Guido Imaguire took his doctorate at the Ludwig-Maximillians-University in Munich, where he studied with L.B. Puntel, H. Burkhardt and M. Schirn. He is presently Full Professor of Philosophy at the Federal University (UFRJ) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is fellow of CNPq, and member of the LanCog (Language, Mind and Cognition) Research Group at the Philosophy Centre of the University of Lisbon. Guido published Russells Fruehphilosophie (Olms Verlag: 2001), Lógica: Os Jogos da Razão (UFC: 2006), Estudos em Filosofia da Linguagem (Loyola: 2008), co-edited the books On Denoting: 1905-2005(Philosophia Verlag: 2005), Untersuchungen zur Ontologie (Philosophia Verlag: 2006), Metafisica Contemporânea (Vozes: 2007). Guido has published several articles in peer-reviewed international journals. His currently work is on the intension-extension distinction, the Platonism-nominalism debate, and mereology.
