Born in Santarém, Portugal (1965)

Visual Artist. Art and Aesthetics Researcher.

Graduated in Painting, School of Fine Arts, University of Lisboa (FBAUL), 1996. Master in Philosophy of Art, School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisboa (theme: The Experience of the Sublime in Suprematism), 2001. PhD in Philosophy of Art, School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisboa (theme: Intersubjectivity and Abyss in Aesthetics Discussion), 2008.

Assistant Professor at FBAUL (Lisboa) in the Painting Department, where currently teaches the following subjects: Painting I; Models II; Printmaking; Pictorial Thinking. Since 1997 has curated many artistic projects, in Portugal and abroad, mainly in the Painting field, Installation Art, Contemporary Printmaking, and Public Art Projects. Since 2008 has edited and co-edited several books about Painting, Digital Sphere, Research in the Arts; Artistic Research; Contemporary Printmaking; and Public Art. Since 2008 has organized many international lectures about Research in the Arts, Public Art, and Printmaking.

Individual and Group Exhibitions since 1982 (Portugal, Denmark, France, Spain, Germany, Luxemburg, Netherlands).
