Pedro Galvão

Research group: LanCog
I’m Assistant Professor at the University of Lisbon, where I took my PhD with a thesis on rule-consequentialism. My area of research is normative and applied ethics, but I’m also deeply interested in metaethics, metaphysics, epistemology, and early modern philosophy. I published mainly on consequentialism, Kantian ethics, abortion, and animal rights. Rule-consequentialism is still my main obsession. I have translated into Portuguese Sidgwick’s Methods, Mill’s Utilitarianism, and many other philosophical works.
