Short Presentation
The colloquium Cosmopolitanism, Ecology and the Politics of the Sensitive, organized by the project of CFUL Cosmopolitanism, Justice, Democracy and Citizenship without borders and the research group Animal Ethics and Rights (Diversitas/USP), starts with the presumption that in the current and future Global State, ecological questions and requirements represent the core of every possible projection on a multiform and abundant life on earth. Therefore, it will be necessary that we think Cosmopolitanism not only delimited on the human species, but open to every other being as part of the planetary sphere. The politics of the sensitive, understood as a politics which focuses on the senses and on our corporal sensibility may figure as the key for a shift in politics in general and for the necessary change in today’s ecological behavior.
Dirk Hennrich is one of the organizers.
